Hope you've been practicing with that elk call...also need to know how to cow call. I know you've been running to get those legs/calfs in shape...spending enough time on those shooting skills? Just remember...PICK A SPOT!!

I have a hoochie ma-ma you could have borrowed from me and Charlies trip! I know it works cause I called in 2 elk hunters with it........they had compounds....lol!

I really do not like the Hoochie ma-ma Im not saying it will not work but were it is used a lot the elk know the sound and what is waiting at the other end. I can always tell one when I hear it and know it is another hunter and I'm stupid unlike elk that are smart. One other thing I have noticed is that when someone is using it they call nonstop with it so if you are going to use one I would use it like it was any other call. I ran into a guide that was on horses towing a guy and his girl she was not hunting they were just moving down the trail and every 15 seconds he would hit the Hoochie ma-ma what a joke.    Widow

O ya and since I am going to be hunting the same area if I hear you I WILL MESS WITH YOU and call you in LOL. And if it is Casey I call in that would be a bonus. How are you doing buddy. Hope to see you Casey.     Widow

Good luck Ken, I too will be flying out on Sept 5, for a Colorado DIY elk bow hunt with two compound hunting partners. We will be mostly car camping in WRNF, but also plan a 3-nite bivy hunt. We will be returning home the 16th. Cant wait too overworked and need a break.

You're a big strong guy, Ken, but you might be surprised what those "few light items" will weigh.

You MIGHT also be surprised what a 55# pack starts to weigh when you hit the slopes and are suckin air!

Good luck and have a grand, grand time!
