If it is what Bisch said, I dont think eating it would be a great idea. A jaw/tooth/mouth abcess would spread infection throughout the bloodstream and in turn the tissues.  I'm not sure that without encapsulation of an infection/abcess the deer could live. I may shoot but probably would not eat it.
No that is not correct. The Lumpy Jaw  does not affect the meat in any way from everything I have read. Like I said, I shot and ate one with Lumpy Jaw about 17-20yrs ago and I'm still kicking!

Don'tlook like lumpy jaw, moreso a wart. I have shot quite a few over the years with warts some so bad you could not really tell their head from the wart. I have eaten all of them with no ill effects. Shawn

This deer as you say has been alive three years.  I think she's fine.

I would shoot and eat! I'd try for the rabbit also.

I would go for the rabbit but not the doe. We can't shoot does here. I think she would be fine to eat. Ate coyotes that looked worse. JK on the coyotes.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.
Yip yipahooooo yipyipyip.

BWD

I wouldn't shoot her at that angle, but if she would turn a little bit...

I answered "yes" before I saw the picture.  After viewing the picture, my answer remains the same!

Thumper you eat coyotes! Do they taste like chicken?     As for the doe I would eat that!

Yes, I killed a little buck like that years ago.

I would shoot and when butchering her I would pay close attention to the meat. If it looks fine I'd have no problem.

Ray Hammond

that's a tumor-like growth, not lumpy jaw. The meat is fine.

A fibroma is like a wart.  That's what it is and the deer's completely safe to eat.

KOOK68

I've seen it before, and people in the know say fibroma also. No effect on the meat, other than psychological

Sixby

NO way do I kill that deer for food. Shoot the bunny.

God bless, Steve
