have shot quite a few,
the onei liked the best,,, of all time ever,
a black widow 45 lb takedown,
it was fast, quiet, and hit where i looked,
was smooth as glass all the way to 28 , no stacking,,
problem i cant afford one,,, am not really in a big hurry as i have bows to shoot. but would really like some suggestions to something compareable.. either in a pm or here. i look at the classifieds and do not reconize alot of the names. have had a few bears, and a few other brands that shot ok. none i liked like the widow. thanks in advance..

Look through the sponsors list and check out their websites. So many good bowyers with a vast array of options. If you see something you like call the bowyer. No one will know better than them what will work best for you.

I think I shoot best with a bow that has a harsh feeling draw cycle...I want the draw to grab my attention

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

The RER Arroyo is very close to a Widow TF, it is quicker and quieter and smoother than a Widow as well. You can find used Widows for around $400 and as high as a grand. The Arroyo can be had from $325 to 600 and can be had new for around $600. Shawn

Hey Jim, a sponsor on Tradgand is Mike from
https://bruinbows.com/HOME_PAGE.html
In my opinion close to a widow without the pricetag. Mike made me a woodsmaster 50# @ 32"
I am very happy with her. Give his site a look There are more than a few on Tradgang who can attest to his workmanship and performance of his bows.

Here is my take for what its worth..After shooting over 25 custom bows and spending thousands of dollars, i tried something different and cheaper. (many of those were beautiful and shot well) I ordered a Hoyt Excel riser with TRad Tec limbs. (not a sponsor here so wont publicly plug). The riser, limbs , ff string, rest, plunger, silencers all cost me.....
363.00 delivered in 2 days. Plus ..it was set-up!!
The best part is it shoots right there with the best of them. Speed is there and very quiet.

Check out the classifieds.   I'm a Bob Lee fan.  I see a few for sale in the classifieds.  BL bows are quiet, fast, and very smooth.

The only answer to your question is its time to sell some bows ,guns that you have sitting around. Buy what you want and end your dilemma!!

You ask a 1,000 bowhunters and your going to get a 1,000 different opinions.  UB told me that "some guys like Chevys, some Fords, and others Dodge...They're all nice trucks, but one just fits your @$$ better than the other"  You can go by what we all say, buy a bow and it just may not fit YOU as comfortable as it does me.  Try to get your self to a show or a shoot and try some others out.

In the mean time, keep an eye on the classifieds. Also, bo to Black Widows web site, go to the widow wall, the buy/sell forum.  You may find a good price on a used widow.  Good Luck!

Excel is metal. As ugly and lifeless as it is, the thing just shoots. It'll have mass similar to a widow as well. Darn thing is just too dang good at what it does.

khardrunner...you said it...its the exact opposite of everything i love in a custom...beautiful craftsmanship...exotic woods and figured veneers..
and yet...it does its job better than any of em...just shot my best 3d ever....
i like to think of it as the ugly duckling that becomes beautiful as u shoot it...lol

besides the animals dont care if its perty or not..
blackout riser with black limbs..it is very sleek ...

Can I buy a decent set of lighter limbs for the Hatfield?
