Nice deer, guys, and the old nanny's are tougher to get than the bucks following them, lots of times.  The bucks get pretty easy long about the first week of November!

Pat - yeah, I kind of get the whitetail bug honest enough, I guess   :)    Just got in from shooting my heavier Shelton, matter of fact.  It shoots really nice - 64@29 inches, 68 inch bow, shooting 2216's from it.  I'm going to be packing that bow along to Montana in a month elk hunting.  We'll have an all Hill-style camp this year, my buddy and his grown son.  I'll be packing the sissy stick, though, those guys are into the heavy Hill stuff.  I'm real happy with this bow, the pop cans really gotta watch out at 35 yards!

Sorry for the digression...now back to some more whitetails!

Here is my first longbow deer - killed this one in Iowa on Christmas eve last year with my lighter 55lb Shelton longbow.  This gal and her compadre gave me fits during the rut in November when I was chasing bucks, her pal was a bigger yellow colored doe, I really planned to kill her late season, but she had a button buck in tow and this gal was dry, so the dry doe got the nod.

I'm to stupid to figure out how to post pic, great bucks fellas.

Slightly off topic, but something kind of neat. Did anyone else notice how the white on the deer laying in the woods doesn't show up that well? The color white on the deer laying with lots of dead leaves laying around them is the pictures I am referring to. The white is hardly noticeable and many of the leaves around them are also very light in color. I never thought patches of white would help something blend in well with the woods, but the proof is right there.

Just something that occurred to me. Unbelievable deer fellas!

It was always amazing how a brown blob can hide and disappear like they do. I like deer that are unique. My uncle killed a buck with a double white neck patch. And couple years ago I see a doe with black ears. Big ol nanny. I wnted to GE her so bad. When I was hound during rifle season I seem two pibaled yearling running together.  Just gorgeous!

Here are my best three bucks......to date! All 3 killed out of the same tree stand over a two year period.

This is my biggest buck; an 11pt that grossed 136":

This is my avatar pic and the only velvet buck I have ever shot:

This is my second biggest buck. I think he is the best looking deer I have ever shot:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the only 12pt I have ever shot. We named him  3-Horn because of his double main beam. He was a 4x4x4!

And I can't leave out my St Judes Hope buck in 2011:
