but I bought a "new to me" recurve yesterday, a Quillian cane brake #48

I already had and still do have two more of Dans bows  both 68 lbs plus with my draw of about 28 1/2 to 29 inches

I mentioned a while ago I have an aortic aneurism and am not supposed to strain and this bow seems pretty easy for me to draw hopefully nothing will pop.

Anyway I have a question
I am shooting 2216s 33 inches long from nock to field point tip I have about 60 of them and they always shot fine out of my other bows.

Keep in mind I haven't touched my heavy bows or any bow for almost 4 years because of these doctors driving me nuts about my heart. SO I may be a little rusty.

However I just shot about 15 arrows in 3 arrow groups, two are four fletched and ones bare shaft.

I noticed the fletched ones would kick up in the back one time, then straighten out prior to hitting the target and go in straight, they are not porpoising.  The bare shaft would do the same thing and would hit with the nock end of the arrow about 6 inches higher than where the tip was. Side to side I was fine.

Distance was about 12 yards and I was hitting amazingly well, I guess its like riding a bicycle.

I shoot with a tab, my bow canted and I look where I want to hit no sight or anything.

I think my field points are 125 grain but they may be more, they are 40 years old.

Yes I am getting to be older fart.

So why is the back of the arrow kicking up, any ideas?

I forgot to measure the brace height.

Bob,
I'm no expert but it sounds like your nock point is the problem. I'd try moving it up a little and if that doesn't fix it then go down a little.

Thanks I'll try moving it around and see what affect that has.
