I saw a lengthy summary of a very exhaustive Gallup-type archery survey today.  Archer numbers are way up in the US -- about 18 million total.  14% of those are recurve or LB shooters.

I'm not surprised at all. I'm familiar with a youth program that has taught 12 million kids to shoot since 2002. That program grew 21.8% this past school year.

What's interesting is that this survey didn't even count, due to privacy issues, archers under age 18! So the number is a LOT more!

Interesting to note that the ATA doesn't even mention the largest youth archery program in history.  Maybe because they aren't the author of that program --- nah!?

The complete report is available at the owner's site.

In a different report by the USFWS hunter numbers up 9% which is far better than more than 2 decades of decline.

The good ole days ain't over yet.

If they would have included the kids involved in the NASP the number would be a whole lot higher.  Best thing we have going for the future of archery.
