Recently I traded for a bow that honestly I thought would be fun to shoot a little and if I didn't like it I could get my money back in the classifieds. I should have never drew it back. That first ooh soo smooth draw started as a ripple that turned into a wave that caused me to rethink my entire hunting setup.

I thought I was a longbow guy and I didn't like black glass much but that changed with this bow. With that change I needed to switch arrows. My woodies weren't stiff enough so I went back to some CE heritage I had been saving. The increased riser mass just begged for a bow quiver over my usual Bowmate Elite so I did some trading for a Kanati that not only looks good but makes this quiet bow even quieter. With that I just had to add a Safari tuff fletch cover(hides my girly pink arrows!).

After changing the quiver I had to rethink my storage options. I decided to go with a pack that can hold all my ground hunting stuff including chair in one unit. My haversack was out and a Camelbak commander is in. The bow came with a endless loop b-50 which was a change over my usual D-10 Oliverstacey strings. I needed a spare so I gave Josh a call and he came up with a color matching b-55 14 strand that I love.

So there you go almost a complete equipment change sparked by one draw and carried out through Tradgang member trades and sponsors.

Yup, have been doing that for years here in the classifieds. Recently changed my goto hunting setup after "trying a new one", even after trying bows for years.  Ya never know till ya experience it. Have fun.

I forgot to mention that during all this change I began to like a KK goat skin glove over my tried and true Damascus. Why not go all the way?!

Sweet bow Rob, but what about the knife?  I see you are still using your Bark River.  Don't you need to pick up some kind of Bone scaled bowie or something?

Tsalt, Me and that Bark River are good buddies but I think I finally learned to never say never.  

I hate when that happens. But its fun and some one has to do it.

I know what you mean with this post Rob!  I am a classifieds addict and have tried many bows of all sorts.  I've always styled myself a 'longbow' guy, and probably still am??  Been trying to stop buying used and recently bought a brand new Robertson Fatal Styk RECURVE following a passionate recommendation by a friend.  The bow is amazing and shoots like no recurve I've tried up to now.  Now I don't quite know what I am.  Just a bow lover in general, LOL.  The Robertson will be a great bow for me and a keeper.  Good luck with the Martin!  Great looking bow with a great reputation.

That wood combo is one of my favorite in a Hunter. For a long time now I've been on a quest for "THE ONE" the one bow that I can do anything with and just pickup and shoot and be totally content with. My Hunter is "THAT ONE    "
