Being a huge fan of longbows 66 " and longer, with 70 inchers being my favorite, I was always of the opinion that I would never find a " short " longbow that would perform to my expectations....WRONG !
Recently I traded into a beautiful 26 yr old 62" 67 @ 28 Rocky Miller Sacajawea " short " longbow, that is without a doubt the most shootable and accurate short longbow Ive ever shot...bar none. Im now convinced that a sweet shooting, stable and consistent, " short " longbow is possible.
Im tellin ya folks that this "short" longbow shoots so well, that this crow aint half bad.....now, could someone please pass the salt.    :biglaugh:

I felt the same way until I got a 62" pronghorn and now have 2 at 62".  I ordered a 66" from herb but I like the shorter ones better.

You aint wrong beaver! Once I went through my prehistoric trial and error way of finding out what arrow and point combination she likes, she has impressed me as much as my 68" Rocky Miller.
Short or long, I guess im just a sucker for Rocky Miller bows longbows.

Moleman, got a picture of it? is there a name on it/ I think they may be my old bow. If it is,she's a shooter for sure!

Paul,
I too am a fan of long longbows, but I have an order in with James2 at JD berry for a 62" forward handle stringfollow longbow.  If its half as good as James is telling me then I too will BELIEVE.

good on ya.

Goshawkin, does "Magnum" ring a bell? Other than the makers marks, dates and numbers, its the only thing out of the ordinary.

Ahhh,I can't remember. Anyway, same specs and vintage. It launched a heavy arrow. I found a pic of the one I had.

I'm a long longbow guy too, as per my sig.  I have found the shortest I'll go is 62" like my Habu.  60" to me is pushing what you can still call a longbow.  I tried a 56" Shrew CH for a little while.  Neat little bow with lots of character but just didnt do it for me, so traded it off.

This one is clear glass, with just a bit of a different grip. None the less, since it was a Rocky Miller, it is no doubt a great shooter.
Mr. Miller wasnt as well known as some of the other builders, but his design and quality were second to none.
