Just because you are passionate about something, doesn't mean you don't suck at it.

Congrats Chuck, enjoy it, retirement is great, I retired from the PD 4 years ago, shoot arrows every day, and hunt when I want, oh yea a lot less stress. Enjoy

Way to go and congrats, I look forward to the day. I have way to many hobbies that need more attention. May you get to do what you want, when you want!!

I retired 8 years ago and couldn't enjoy myself more. With a lot of time on my hands, it has been easy to go on more hunts and relax more. One piece of advice though, with all the extra time a person has, it is very easy to spend more money than when you were working!   ;)
Time spent alone in the woods puts you closer to God.

"Can't" never accomplished anything.

Thanks all...

Well, so far it doesn't suck. Been busy all day though, but I still made time to shoot arrows and work on a self bow that has been sitting in a corner for a year already.  oh, and some new Doug Fir arrows.

Starting to like this new job.

I left work almost 6 years ago......after 37 1/2 years. Since then I have hunted Illinois, Ohio, South Carolina, Colorado and New Brunswick. Headed for Missouri in October. I shoot just about everyday, tour on my motorcycle with my wife, kayak, fish and once in a while just do nothing because I can. I stump shoot with some other old farts and go to the gym every day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Yesterday I had nothing to do and only got it half done!   :biglaugh:
