Thanks to all that sent well wishes and prayers. The operation went good and now the wait begins before I can put weight on the new ankle and start walking again. Unlike knees and hips that they get you up and walking right away I will be in a cast for 6=8 weeks with no weight baring. I'll be getting around on crutches and a knee scooter.

I'm still taking some pain meds so I am a bit unsteady on my crutches. I put up two trail cams in my favorite elk spots before I went in for the ankle so I'll post them when I get them all. I got some really nice ones last year.

Best to ya, Ken

You have all my best wishes for a full recovery and I'm guessing next year will see you heading up and down the best of those hills.

Glad you are healing well, but don't rush it. Follow the doctor's instructions and work hard on the physical therapy. You will be back in the woods before you know it.

Hope you are able to kick some butt with that foot again, before too long.

Glad to hear everything went ok for you. Be sure and keep up with the PT when your doctor sends you. They can make all the difference in the world on a quick recovery.I have one of those fake hips and it was a long road for me but i actually enjoyed the PT.

X3 on the physical therapy! I had an ankle rebuilt 3 yrs. ago after "over celebrating" my birthday and falling on the ice. I didn't do any P/T and my ankle STILL isn't right! So work hard when they tell ya it's ok to do so, and God bless ya with a speedy & FULL recovery!

OBXarcher

Good luck.  I am sure you will be fine and chashing elk before you know it.

Hopewell Tom

I'm 6 months out from a hip replacement and the patience required is pretty huge. I'm starting to get around quite well, so the time is ripe for overdoing it! Steady as she goes...
Good luck on the recovery. Doing the "stupid " little exercises seems like a waste of time, until you find some of them are tough at first!
Slowly takes on a whole new meaning.

It will no doubt be a loonnnggg 6-8 weeks, but hope all is worth it in the end.  It's so hard for me to even comprehend how they can replace things like that.  Simply amazing!
