Would you frown upon the idea of shooting next to someone using duct tape fletching in competition?

Been using them lately and seem to fly great. are there rules in place that will not allow them?

thanks

Zradix

I don't know about "rules"
and I don't care what someone else shoots.

But I'll bet a real feather will hold up and keep its shape much better.

He he...there are no rednecks in the Philippines, but I know what it means having lived in LA for 10 years.

Hi, just experimenting...and they do fly great. Feathers and vanes are available but my daughter says I am a "bird"...because I'm cheap...cheap...cheap.

Thank you...hoping to figure out how to post a photo of the arrows I have been making. Just got pointed to this forum recently by friends doing Olympic Recurve and they knew I love barebow shooting. Just got a hold of beautiful solid bamboo shafts, heat tempered and straightened.I'm using a Howatt longbow 45lbs@28"

True...having tried feathers just recently. But very expensive over hear. May have to look for local suppliers here in the Phils. or just use chicken or duck feathers since they are cultured here. Thanks

I'd like to see some.  If it works go for it.

I don't think stumps care what kind of fletch is on the arrow they are getting hit with...   :dunno:

I imagine squirrels and woodchucks don't care, either.  Sounds like a good idea!

I would like to see a pic please. I love duct tape for lots of things. Everyone should have some.
If it's in your way, move it.

Felizardo,

Of course I meant the equivilent of a redneck!

Also, I have a dozen ICS 400's four fletched with Canadian goose feathers that I purchased  right here from Magnus.  I personally prefer the rigidity of goose and turkey.

I'm sure you could search the popular video site for a "how-to" on splitting and grinding raw feathers.

Good luck,

I just happened to be searching around yesterday for different ideas to fletch some of my own arrows and saw these while searching. Looks like it is popular among survival folks.

Looks like it would be tough to get them installed with much helical.  Not that I use much helical...
