I have a Garmin 60CSx GPS.  I'm in the middle of the planning stages for a Utah elk hunt and am wondering about getting some maps for it that show land ownership.  Some ot the spots I am looking at border some private ground.  I have topo maps on it now that show contours well, but I think there are some available that show boundary lines and land ownership.  I want to make sure that I stay where I belong.
Any suggestions?

You probably need to contact the county property appraiser for current info.  You run the risk of getting out of date maps from other sources.  They should have digitized maps, but I couldn't tell you how to get that info onto your gps unit.  Good luck.

I don't think they're actually out yet, but rollout is apparently imminent.

They are out and I have the card for CO.  It is worth the money for sure.  I know exactly where I am and I have heard of several cases where this program holds up in court if the situation ever arises.

I run it on the 450T and it is excellent!

I used these in 2011.  Worked great but there is a learning curve on downloading and such.  They have good tutorials.  Best part is they are very free.

I downloaded Colorado and Nebraska into my computer, then transferred the areas I needed into the chip in my Garmin. I have a 60CSx. Updates should be out soon, if not already available. I wouldn't go out west without this stuff. Trespassing, even if inadvertently, can be big trouble. I don't trust fencelines.

Those huntinggpsmaps sound great.  Do you know if it is downloaded whether it can be copied to more than one GPS?  So that hunting buddies could share a set of maps for two units?  Or would each need to buy seperate maps?

John, I have some free maps on my GPS now, and they work great as topo's.  I don't see an option that shows land ownership and boundaries though on the gpsfiledepot site.  Am I missing something?

Everyone would end up having to buy their own maps. You can buy a "download" version to put on your computer, or buy it on a micro SD card to put in your gps. They just launched a new product that puts the map boundaries over google earth which is a cool feature for scouting.

Whip,
I use the gpsfiledepot, and the maps I have downloaded do show land ownership. The maps work great with my Garmin Oregon.

Oh boy   :(   I might have bitten off more than I can chew.  Got the Utah land ownership to download.  But now I seem to have lost all of my topo maps that had been loaded on the GPS.  I'm trying to download one of those now.  I had them in there for most all of the states in the west and midwest.  I may have to reinstall topos for all of them.

Still trying to figure out this gpsfiledepot stuff.
All of the topos that I had originally loaded on the unit seem to be gone.     :dunno:   Darn it!!  I  I had topos of nearly the entire country that I had uploaded free and now they are gone.

I downloaded the Utah topo from the site and it seemed to work fine.  Then I did the CO topo, and now that is the only one I can see.  Maybe have to upload all the states first and then install them all at once?
This is going to take awhile....

Whip, When I down load new topos on my 60csx it always erases the maps that I have already loaded and on the unit. I have to load everything at one time that I want on it.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

Not familiar with the program but you may be able to download it to mapsource, then import to your handheld at one time..  If you have enough memory
