Aluminum arrow questions

I shoot a longbow that is made to shoot 55# at twent eight inches, but is have a 30" draw, so I have guesstimated that I am pulling about sixty pounds.

What would be a good heavy aluminum shaft to employ? I am very unfamiliar with deflection measurements, as I have only shot wood for the majority of my longbow career.

Any help or guidance is very much appreciated.

Depends on how heavy of a point you want to shoot. A 2117 or 2020 would be a good place to start. A 2018 will probably be weak and 2018 legacys are only 30 1/4" long.

I shoot 2018s from my 60# bows with 10gpp weights and about 30in lengths.

I shoot a 160 grain broadhead. And in saying that I understand that some degree of experimentation is needed. But what y'all have provided is a good place to start.

I like 2219 for your needed length and point weight

HI it depends , is your bow center cut or cut close to center , is it a modern longbow reflex deflex design are you shooting fast flight string
or dacron i personally love alloys because they so easy to tune
and cheap you can buy 4 different shafts and some points and tinker untill you find one that bares hafts ok

I shoot a swedged 31" to the bop 2219's with 160g and get perfect flight with bare shafts and when I shoot BIG broadheads.

Only differance is I'm shooting a 62" recurve that is right at 60# @ 30"

I shot 160 grain heads from 64# MOAB and 28 1/2" arrows using 2020, 2215, 2217. 2020 is nice and heavy and spined right. It shoots just like my 70-74# woodies.
