Anybody heard of him? Sounds like an interesting bloke, for sure. There is a very short chapter about him in Brian Marsh's "A Pioneering Hunter". Aside from his double .475, Rodney Wood hunted big game with a bow-and-arrow, believing that, on a bad shot, it killed the animal better. He got into trouble with his boss for conducting his game control operations with this bow. Apparently it had a very heavy draw weight. In the 1950s he was living a hermit's life at Cape Mackear on Lake Nyasa. There you go. I wish I knew more.

Hey Ben - great to see you back on here.   Have not seen you for ages.   Even sent you a P/M recently, but did not hear back.  I wondered what happened to you.

Cheers

Yeah, sorry mate. Been living a few particular Kristofferson songs, eh. Still am.

Might even pick-up a bow later this year.

Nope, just not doing much with it, aside from a few occasional shots. Hope to try again a bit later.

Here is a book on him:

Looks like there are a couple on that big auction site for about $20.

Looks like you can read his diaries....if you can get to Cambridge!!

Hope that helps.

No problem "mate"!!   Be careful with that Kristoffersonian lifestyle!!!   Classic American hard luck songs paired with some of those Aussie drinking habits could hurt a fella!!     :scared:
