Nicely done.... something I have always wanted to learn.

Wow Ken, reminds me of a fine double barrel.  Really adds something classy to the bow, great job.

That's some sweet engraving. Photos are deceptive, but it looks to me as if those plates could be half as thick as they appear to be and still perform well...that would significantly reduce the weight issue. What's the actual thickness of the plates

Plates started out about 3/8". I filed the design  off twice because I didn't like what I created. The weight is acutually welcome here and I don't mind the extra 6 oz. or so. They are about the same thickness as a regular bezel, 1/4" or so.

That makes a truly defining touch on a beautiful bow. You are obviously talented.

I saw these plates in person yesterday at the Profession Bowhunters Society Odd Year Gathering in Wisonsin. It is hard to imagine, but the plates (and limb bolt, and bezels, and  wood carving) look even better in person.

Kenn had his bow all decked out and he turned a short 58" Wes Wallace recurve into a deadly silent almost Olympic accurate shooting machine. Holding it in your hand, you could feel a "solid" weight in the handle. It was very impressive, not just from an artistic side, but functional as well.

Very cool ... I love the look and the concept!!!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Very interesting and impressive!!

Thanks all for the encouraging words. After shooting this bow last weekend in a 3-d shoot enviroment I'm convinced that these plates are helpful. I am anxious to work out the thoughts I have for improvements. I feel it helps stabilize my shot. I also believe it deadon's the sound. One thing you can't measure is feel, and it feels awesome! One guy wanted to shoot it at the PBS Odd Year Gathering when all of a sudden the dinner bell rang and I never saw him after that. I would love to share this with others, even if only for a sounding board for new ideas or improvements.
