My fletched field points/small game heads are hitting right where I look from my 53lbs@29" longbow (my actual measured draw weight and draw length).  I've got 100gr inserts with 125gr points.  My bareshafts are hitting 6-7" right of field points and broadheads (2, 3, and 4 blade) are all hitting 4-6" right of field points at 20 yards.

About how much should I take off the ends to get them all flying straight?

I'd like to get it as close as possible since I live in an apartment and have to drive 25 min to the closest range from the store that can cut down my carbon shafting.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Really hard to say b/c a 1/4" on a carbon shaft can make a huge difference. It's better to cut a little and check, little and check.....

So, should I start with 1/8" cuts or maybe even go back to 1/16" cuts?

It would be tough to get a cut that small. What way are the shafts kicking when they come out of the bow? are you Right Hand or Left?

I still won't be able to tell you exactly how much to cut off. That is trial and error.

I just try to live my life in a way that would have made my father proud.

**DONOTDELETE**

try padding your strike plate out a wee bit before you cut anything. or try dropping down to 75 grains of brass if you can afford the weight reduction is what i'd do.... kirk

Shafts with fletching are not really kicking at all that I can tell.  Without fletching they are kicking to the left first but wobbling plenty along the way.

Try a lighter point-insert combo like Kirk said.  Standard inserts and 175 gr points would be an option.

Gee what's the centre cut of that bow?

How long are your shafts now?

I would do what kirk suggested.
