I'm starting some research on the Stewart Slammers.  He offers several configurations.  Would like to hear which you like and why.

Are you looking at the 3PC TD or 1 PC?
I had a 66 inch 3 piece and it was solid state and one of the best 3 PC longbows i have had no problem.

I had a 68 inch one piece and it was really smooth and very accurrate and quick as well.It has a longer riser and some mass weight to it.

I have not had any of the other lengths.So I cant compare the other lengths to the 2 I have had.I draw 30" and like a longer bow.

I love my 3pc!  The extra mass weight of the diamondwood riser is great for some inertia to keep things steady, but has proportions slim enough to not be cumbersome.  Most accurate bow for me 'out of the box' that I've ever sampled, only bow that I can consistently hit 20oz water bottles with at 20 yd.  I'm hoping the Vyperkahn Jet performs equally well when I lay my hands on it for the first time tomorrow.  I will weigh my Slammer riser and report back.

I have a 64 slammer that is my primary bow. If you are interested in Leon's bows I would suggest you give him a call. He is a custom bowyer but will have a few "in stock" thatmay fit the bill for you as well. He is a master craftsman and an ethical businessman as well. I attended Denton hill last summer to shoot many bows and I felt that no others there shot as well nor were finished as nicely as Leon's bows. My custom bow did take some time from my order to when it was complete, but it was extremely worth it and I felt no "buyers remorse" whatsoever.

First, let me state I'm primarily a recurve guy ... but I love the Slammer.  It is the only longbow I can shoot consistently well.  I have a 64" 3 piece Slammer and had a 66" in the same draw weight.  The 66" was just a little smoother on draw, but both bows are so smooth it was hardly noticeable.  I kept the 64 because it is easier to hunt out of a treestand.  I recently bought a one piece 64" slammer in a lighter draw weight.  It is considerably lighter in overall mass weight than the 3 piece bow, but I have found that it is every bit as easy to shoot.  For me the grip of a bow is very important and both the 1 and 3 piece bows are nearly identical in that respect.  Very comfortable and easy to grip consistently.  I recently shot Leon's 56" Lil Slammer at the Baltimore shoot and was surprised at how well it shot.  I was skeptical of a longbow that short, but liked it.  I have too many bows or that one would have come home with me to join the other two.  As Greenbear said, I too have shot a number of very nice custom bows and have found that Leon's bows are finished nicer than most.

I have a Three piece slammer, it depends on what your going to use it for. It's my go to bow, but it's not going along on my elk hunt this year because I think it's just a little too heavy to carry around the mountains. I picked up a two piece bow for this purpose.

I can say, that whatever you get from Leon, you won't be disappointed !

Well I have A 58" Slammer Special 55#@27" . It is as fast and smooth as my Robertson Fatal styk. His grips are designed to fit and I don't recall anyone telling me different. Leon is definitely a master bower and builds works of art. You can't go wrong with one of his bows.

yep- great bows I have several of his three piece slammers and multiple limbs, I have never considered a different longbow after I shot his.

i tried three or four slammers at our whittingham trad shoot, from a 45# 60"bow up to a 52# 64"er and they all felt amazing! i took the 64" slammer and within a couple of weeks called leon to see if two of the other bows were still available. they were already sold so i'll be wating to see what he brings next year. they are great longbows ( 1 piece) that are fast, quiet, and look like the top of the line bows which they are.

I have three Slammers (two one piece and one three piece) all 64". I had a 60" Slammer, but I prefer a longer longbow. All are works of art, that draw smoothly and hit where your looking.

Great bows and a terrific Bowyer!!

You can't go wrong with a slammer,I have tried many bows and always end up back with the slammer,Leon is an outstanding bowyer and a stand up guy.Give him a call he usually has some bows in stock.I currently have two one piece slammers and a three piece takedown for traveling.

awesome bows,, my buddy has a nice 3-piece and if anythign the one thing people don't like is the mass weight,, it feels as heavy as a recurve and with me or him thats  good thing but if you want a really light weight bow go for his 1-piece.  

the 3-piece slammer's grip is perfect!

I have a slammer special, one piece. I LOVE the bow and dealing with Leon. I really suggest going to visit Leon at ETAR or going to his shop. If I were to do it again I think I would shoot better if I had a bow with more mass weight. I will probably get another someday, either 3 peice or the Traditional Longbow cuz it has more mass weight and that seems to help my shooting.
