Why should I open my mouth and prove myself a fool when I can keep it shut and have everyone guessing . It's not how many times u fall but how many times u get up.

If we aren't supposed to eat animals then why are they made of meat?

I really liked this one that was posted a while back.

"The Bow Hunters Prayer

Lord, grant me just one more day
to watch the birds and squirrels play
To feel the sunshine on my face
To be alone in open space
To feel the string upon my hand
To see the gobblers strut tails fanned
To watch the rain beads on my bow
To find a deer trail in the snow
To sit and marvel at your world
To hear your plans for me unfurled
For I'm not out there to seek man's fame
Or to somehow boast upon my name.
I am out here for the love of you
And the simple wonders that you do.
For a tired old hunter like myself
Who doesn't dream of power of wealth
Who humbly asks on bended knee
For a whitetail buck to pass my tree
And for some wisdom from above
To show lost sinners of your love
So that they too can come to see
All the gifts you've given me
And when the bow is drawn back last
And my final arrow is cast
Let your warmth and mercy be shown
To thy bow hunting servant at your throne."

Too long for the wall, but worth sharing nonetheless:

The way to hunt is for as long as you live against as long as there is such and such an animal; just as the way to paint is as long as there is you and colors and canvas, and to write as long as you can live and there is pencil and paper or ink or any machine to do it with, or anything you care to write about, and you feel a fool, and you are a fool, to do it any other way.

I thin Fred Bear said this, but not sure.
"you can get awfully hungry hunting with a bow and arrow" and not sure I have it worded exactly, but you get the idea.

Self quote: "Were you born stupid or have you always been that way?", not really enlightening or archery related, but helped me get the point across many times in my Naval Career.

unknow author: "It will feel better when it stops hurting"

Bert Hendren at Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear: "I can't cut the arrows any longer"

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

Thanks folks! Keep them coming please. I will let you know when I come up with one that really grabs me.
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Success is the one thing you risk the most to achieve, sometime the risk is its own reward.

I love this quote not just because it has a lot of meaning concerning archery but it speaks a lot about life. If we make sure that we have our priorities right with God Family and ourselves we wont be too far off.

From some dry humored Montana folks I knew:

Course, these were shared on a hunting trip!!!    :saywhat:

It's at the bottom of every one of my posts. It relates to life, and especially hunting with traditional bows and arrows.
