I am going to shoot the old beauty.  What is the brace height supposed to be?

I run about 8" on my '68 Super K. 8-8.5 is the stock height if I'm not mistaken. It's a good place to start; you can adjust 1/2 in. either way depending on what works best for your shooting style. The can get a little tricky to shoot and a bit noisier if you get much lower though.                             Grant

I was going to say 8-8.5 but Grant beat me to it. Seems like all my Kodiaks like that range. But always adjust for what works best for you and arrows you are using. Shoot, watch and listen.

Thanks guys!  Do you worry about shooting a bow that old?  I just dont want a limb to break.

Go out and shoot it all you want. I have and shoot SK's from every year they were made in Grayling.

They will shoot fine and all you want. Seems like my favorite Kodiak will be the one I am shooting that night. If a Bear bow has the word Kodiak on it you know you have a good bow. And if you screw one up, they are easy to redo also.

I cannot own any bow and not shoot it.   I have several older Bears and enjoy shooting them all.

WATCH your fadeouts closely. The 67 is prone to coming apart at the fadeouts.

Bswear- I shoot all my bows and my primary one is a '69. That being said,I believe everything has a life-span and I'd hate to be the last person who said, "aw, go ahead shoot it." There are a lot of variables and I've had a couple come unzipped in mid-shot. On the other hand, I believe dis-use is a damaging alternative with anything built for a dynamic purpose-humans, bows, autos-you name it. Check your glue joints and stress points and make a conscientious decision. As someone here said before-"Id rather wear out than rust out."           Grant
