Got a surprise at post office today...tube in the mail.  But I haven't purchased any bows or fly rods lately.  The tube had a dent in it so I opened in front of the Postmaster to make sure everything inside was OK.  Upon opening, I see it is the St Jude Kids selfbow by DVSHUNTER that I was bidding on for my grandson Eli.  With Ellie's cookies, Delaney's pound cake, and a few tippit knives on the auction block I kinda lost track of where I was...but I knew I wasn't the highest bidder.

Now what to do, Dave must have sent the bow to me in mistake of the highest bidder.  Plus it was inscribed "Shoot Straight Eli...Semper Fi"  I'm starting to sweat not only had Dave sent it to the wrong bidder but he even inscribed it to my Grandson Eli!  I need to get this bow back to the right bidder and get Dave to refinish the inscription.

I drove home to look up the high bidder to get this situation resolved quickly.  This is what I see...

Now it's starting to hit home.  Mike had asked for my mailing address at the end of the auction.  I had tried to get the bids higher on this beautiful Kids bows knowing I would probably lose it. What a surprise!!

Mike, Thank you for an incredible double act of Kindness...one for the St Jude Kids & one for Eli.

PS: Mike as a Marine, you must sleep with one eye open...you'll need it as this hasn't ended   :notworthy:   tippit

I wish I could say I'm surprised. There are some incredible people on this site. I hope your grandson appreciates the bow as much as his grandad.

I'm a little speechless as a pat on the back was not the intent. The truth be known, Each and every year Jeff donates his knives, money, etc. To this auction and expects nothing in return. just knowing that his contributions might help some sick kids is satisfaction enough. Well, this year I found a reason to give not only to the sick kids, but to another young man as well. 2 for the price of one!

No Jeff, Thank You Sir!!!!!!!
