One of my hunting partners wants me to join him next fall for a bear hunt in Maine. The Outfitter he is planning on using is Huntley Brook Guide Service.  I was wondering if any Trad members have been there and if so how was their experience ? A lot of guides I've hunted with have told me that they can cater to me being a Traditional Archer only to find out that their idea of close is anything inside 40 yards!  I've been hunting bear in New Brunswick for the last 6 years and just tired of the 21 hour drive and crossing the boarder.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hunter's Point Guide Service seems a well respected outfit-book early!

Tony and Lynn Boucher at Squapan Mountain Outfitters is also a good camp.  He caters to trad bowhunters as well.

Hunter's Point prefers trad bowhunters. It's their specialty.

Someone told me that Eldon sold Hunter's Point? Is this true?
Keep the sun at your back and the wind in your face.

Yes, he did.  One of his guides bought the business.  Bill C. can keep you up to date about Hunters Point.

Eldon sold the business to one of his guides, Phil Allen. The plans for the near future are no changes. Eldon's taxidermy shop will still be "headquarters" and we will have access to the cooler, freezer, skinning services, etc. All the same guides will be working and Phil has already purchased all the same bait sites for the upcoming year from the paper company. Eldon may even be one of the guides. The biggest difference is that Phil will not be doing moose hunts so you  will still need to talk directly to Eldon about that. Last year's hunt was actually run by Phil. I guess it was a dress rehersal l for him and then right after the hunt the deal was done. Phil was one of the hardest working guides I have met and when Eldon asked me about selling the business I told him the best guy I knew would be Phil. If  you had planned to hunt with Eldon don't hesitate to book with Phil. You will not be disappointed.
