I've read plenty of reviews using the search function, but I'm sure I missed a few.

So....tell me about your Toelke Super D. I've shot a lot of Dan's bows but never the D. In fact, I've never shot a D bow. I've got the bug, though.

How about some pointers, comments, and pictures? Everything is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am a one bow man since shooting one.  The first time I shot one I broke two of the three arrows Jim Wright had left for me to shoot during my lunch break. All 18-20 yard shots.

If you like small grips, you can not find a more perfect marriage between beauty and function in a D shaped bow.  Of course, this is just my extremely biased opinion.

Thank you!

Great bows.
x2 on the grip.
Significant improvement with SBD string...quicker and quieter and shock reduction which was "hardly any" to begin with.

awbowman

I have been thinking of trying a SBD string, but have no real complaints with the one Dan furnishes the bow with.  What strand number do you use?

Dan told me today he sends an 8 strand FF flemish twist.

Bought a beautiful Super D off TG Classifieds last month.  My first experience with a D-shaped bow as well.

Love it!!  Smooth, QUIET and shoots like crazy!  The previous owner sent a spare ****** string with it, and man, does it make a difference in even less noise and apparent speed.

55# @, 66" with Texas Ebony in the riser.  That reminds me, I need to get some pics up!!        :biglaugh:

TxAg, you cannot go wrong with a Super D!

TxAg you know you are going to do it so you might as well get one ordered  :)

Here are some pictures of my Super D. This is the first Toelke bow that I've owned and I can assure you, it won't be the last. It has good cast, a very mild thump in the handle and is the sweetest, smoothest shooting bow. Very accurate and forgiving!

Rcorbitt.....I like those string as well. Have several for my Whips

Twistedlim....yeah, i did, haha

Longbow fanatic.....great looking bow

I had one for a while, smooth and silent, just a fine example of Dan's work!!

anything the Toelke's make is top notch in every way, the Super D is no exception.  Ive shot 6 or so of them, they were all the same, well mannered, easy to shoot etc.  There are also some subtle things in the grip you cant really see in a photo, but it really feels good in the hand.

Jeff - I had a feeling that you didn't get off the phone with Dan without placing an order.

Just because you are passionate about something, doesn't mean you don't suck at it.

I love my super D and concur with all that has been said about it in previous posts. Hands down the quietest bow I've ever shot. On top of that, Dan is such a class act to deal with. He has always answered my plethora of questions with un-rushed grace and patient understanding.
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.

Awesome. I went with a 66" also. 51@29 with cocobolo riser and juniper veneers. Grip is a very deep red elk leather. Oughta be a looker and a shooter

I have an alligator hide grip on mine.  Had to "southern it up" a bit.
