Bud B.

Just got back from the leather shop.

5/6oz veg tanned bull hide double shoulder for b.glass and Caughtandhobble. Not yet quivers, but can you see them yet?

I'll post up while building, but, be forewarned. My work schedule will make this a longer project than I'd like, but, I don't want to rush this anyway in appreciation of the fine bids these two tradgngers put forth for St. Jude.

That's a 4' Swanson rule beneath it. This is a nice big piece of veg tanned leather.

Thank you Bona and Ben!!      :clapper:

Gotta go do some driving instruction on the P.I.T. maneuver and hopefully I can get some work done on them tonight.

Any lawman worth his salt should be able to stitch while teaching P.I.T maneuvers!

They've been taught...this was a refresher. And they needed refreshing. Unless done in repetition and done often it's a perishable skill. I nearly perished of a heart attack on some of'em.    :scared:

Five more sessions and this year's in-service training is over...and it'll be my last.

I'll try to do some quiver work tonight.

Any particular brand leather or just "veg tanned" from Tandy? I'm looking to upgrade the stuff I use. I'm really interested in Horween.

Roughly 250 mallet blows and 118 holes later it still looks like flat leather, but the seeing eyes grasp more. More holes are needed as well as other crafting touches before it actually begins to look like a back quiver.

Don't grab the coffee cups y'all. I gotta go meet some old friends for supper. This is likely all I'll be able to get accomplished today unless something changes.

Thanks for tuning in though.
