the last couple of stings I've had have started fraying in the same spot about 4 in. below the nock just under the serving, and I start seeing it pretty quick. I have been waxing quite often. is this normal for a bow to put stress on a particular spot? Anybody have the same issue? the first sting that came with bow lasted quite awhile, but the last two haven't. Strings have come from the same source.

Do you wear an armguard?  I'd have the string served a little further down--the serving is there to protect the string.

yeah, it's either what was mentioned above or the way you carry the bow around, I've see that before too, rubbing on your arm etc..

My strings always start to fuzz above the serving. Finally figured out it was rubbing on my leg right there when I carry the bow in my side hook carrier.

I would agree it is as mentioned that it is making contact with Armgard or sleeve.  To prevent this from occurring insist on having the string served down to or past the pint of wear...problem fixed.

That is one of the reasons I prefer to have the person shooting the bow and the bow available when I make them a string. Get serving in the best location.

My string guy's standard servings are only 6 3/4" long, but he will change that up for you on request.
My servings are 8 1/2" on center.

All you have to do is ask for what you want.
I'm sure any other stringer out there will do the same.
