Does anyone know the exact grain weight of an old green Bear Razorhead, with a short aluminium screw-in insert???

Looking to get matching weight field points for our arrows...

Thanks in advance!!!!! woodchucker

Hey Woodchucker!!, I wanna say the greenies are about 143 with the bleederblade and 130 with out, that's with out a screw in adapter.  I'm not positive but those numbers are associated with the greenies in my head for some reason.

I apologize if I'm commenting on the wrong Razorheads....mine are a tannish yellow...I don't have any with a factory screw-in insert...but I've put "short" aluminum inserts in several glue-ons and they seem to come in around 138gr....less as you sharpen them...also the bleeders that I have weigh around 4 or 5gr...
Hope this helps!
Have a nice day!

Many Thanks, My Friends!!!!!

I have about 20 old Autumn Orange XX75 2016s, that belonged to my beloved neighbor Lou Wendover before he passed on... I had these crown dipped, crested, and refletched by fellow TradGanger & good friend Joe Skipp. I have Lou's old Razorheads mounted on all of them, and they are boxed and put away strictly for "hunting arrows"...

It is now time to start teaching my youngest son Tyler, to fletch arrows. I have ordered some Easton Legacy 2016's & feathers, and he will soon be fletching up a few dozen "practice arrows" for us to use. I have a bunch of 125gr. field points, but I'm gonna order a couple dozen 145gr. points to get closer to the Razorhead weight.

Thank you all again, for your help!!!!! woodchucker

Bear Razorheads were a 125 gr broadhead, like most back in the day. That is with the bleeder but not the short aluminum adapter. With adapter and bleeder, they were advertised at 145 grs.

Chuck, the 145 gr field points are perfect practice points for that head. That is what I shoot for broadheads and points.

Thanks Charlie!!! I love my woodies, But those old arrows are just, SPECIAL!!! Joe certainly did do a BEAUTIFUL job!!!!!

Tyler is really excited, and can't wait to get started. There's nothing like shooting wood arrows, but I have also shot aluminiums for years and have always been very happy with them!!! After he gets alittle practice under his belt, I'll get a couple dozen Surewood shafts and let him try his hand at woodies.

Should be a great time together!!!!!
