After lookig at different bow building tutorials and binghams instruction there seems to be different opinions and ways of building forms. Some people say to use rubber, cork or formica on the surface of the form. Then there is the pressure strip, some use it, some do not. What do you use and why?

I build my forms out of steel so I dont have to coat them with anything. And it only takes two hours to build the form butyou do need to know how to weld.

Draco,

Could you post pic's of your forms?

How much distortion do you have to file/mill/grind off to get your form flat, so as not to build twist/warp into the bow?

Draco,

How about a build along on one of your forms?

I will get a picture of it and post it with instructions on how to build. My first form was wood and took me a week. I am not a woodworker,I`m a weldor so I knew I was`nt gonna do it like that again. If your careful, there is no milling and just a little grinding. My 1st metal form I copied a friend`s bow and it made it so easy.Came out exactly like the other bow. And it shot just as badly as my friend bow. But it was easy to change the ends of the form to give it more reflex without rebuilding the whole form. So I took it apart and gave it even more reflex. Built several bows on that form but have since built several more trying differant things.
