Does anybody know of anybody who makes a 225 gr screw in  small game head/ blunt ? Or know of any that are glue on where I could add weight using an adapter? Thanks

TSHOOTER

VPA makes a 200 and 250.  Ace hex heads are glue on and come in weights up to 200 gr.

Get a steel adapter they come in 75 100 or 125gn.  Then just glue on what ever blunt you like.  A glue on zwickey with 100gn adapter should be around 235.

Tshooter or anybody,
Do you have any ideas on how I could add that extra 25 grains If I have a 200 gr blunt ( without using 5   5gr brass weight washers)?  I know 25 gr isn't a whole lot but I want them as close to 225 as possible .

I once took a 250 grain head and ground down the point and checked them on a grain scale. They came out real close.

graybarkhunter, the weight washers aren't an option. You can only fit 3 on before running out of threads and strength isn't as good as a solid head, screwed tightly against the insert.

I think your best option would be to buy the VPA glue on SGT,150 gr with a 75 gr steel adapter or their 125 gr SGT,with a 100 gr adapter. The VPA Small Game Thumper is an excellent, high quality head and by combining a glue on head with the appropriate weight insert, you can make almost any weight you want.Just clean the parts and glue with a good epoxy. It is a very simple and non-critical project.

We have 100 grain steel adapters and 125 grain glue on blunts if that helps you.

You can take a 250 gr (or larger) field point and hack saw the tip off. I've done that to a few. Works great.

take a 250grn SGT and drill a little deeper into the center.
And/or grind a bit of the "fins" off.

125 Ace Hex and a 100 grain steel adapter if what I use.
