I have a dale dye with snake skins (love the look)and would like to add some to one of my Blacktails, But I want to know if the skins will change the poundage or the way the bow shoots or performance?
As we get older our bow weight goes down and our body weight goes up, One of Lifes little jokes.

Cant say for sure, but I've heard it adds a couple pounds. Don't know for sure.

It depends on the thickness of the skins and it will slow the bow-thin skins will have very little effect maybe 1#. But fat snake skins will rob power from your bow.

I don't have any real skins, but did put some of Onestringer's Limbsations on a Northern Mist Classic and there was no change.

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

I have ever noticed a difference other than looks.  i suppose if you put too much varathane or other sealer over the limbs it would affect their flexing or recovery slightly but I think it would need to be significant amount.

a snake skin with 4-5 coats of sealer is purely cosmetic for the skin...and a water proofer for the sealer.

Good luck.

It makes the bow much deadlier. My own testing shows a 21.7291% increase give or take .006%

I don't think you could shoot the difference.    :campfire:

I agree with Charlie.  This isn't rocket science.  Any affect on performance would be virtually undectable, much less noticeable.

If your smart you'll give Bob Morrison a call.  He does the best work on snakeskins that I've ever seen.
