Does anybody know what the factory angle the bevel is on a Zwickey and Magnus broadhead?  Trying to find a carbide sharpener that matches.  Thanks

i would say close to 25 but it will vary. buy what sharpener you like and sharpen them to what ever angle you like

Yeah, make it fit your needs.  The grind angle on many broadheads is rough and needs to be corrected.

On the Zwickey No Mercy heads I sharpened it was very steep, about 35 degrees. I used a file attached to my Lansky jig to bring it to 25. Magnus is consistently at 25 degrees for me.

I can only speak for the single bevel zwickey no mercys i have. I sharpened them with my KME knife sharpener but it couldn't even go steep enough for what the factory angle was. I used the steepest angel on the KME which I believe was 30 degrees and had to regrind it a little to fit them

Yeah don't worry about it.  Magnus & Zwickey heads are thin enough and "soft" enough (just at or under RH 50) to make your own angle.  By contrast if you were sharpening a single bevel head like an Abowyer and your technique did not match the bevel (~23 - 25 degrees) you'd be working through a lot of steel to change your bevel and you'd know it (assuming you changed the whole bevel).

Sharpen as you know how...go for it.  Both are easy to sharpen and inexpensive (relative). I could sharpen one with a mill bastard walking through the woods

Both are pretty easy to sharpen but Magnus's grind was a little better when Todd Smith owned it vs. Zwickey's but for some reason I could always get the zwickeys sharper after setting my own bevel. I can't comment on any of the magnus heads since Thundervalley archery bought them and is producing them.

I just got another pack of Magnus 160 grain heads from 3 rivers and, for the first time in all my years of buying broadheads, all six were really dull. I use a tri-stone sharpener to great effect, but on the coarsest stone I have I couldn't even start to get a decent edge. I haven't ordered broadheads in a while now, so are they always this dull these days or was this an anomaly? Also, what kind of sharpener should I use to get an edge started if my coarsest stone can't get the job done efficiently without losing 20+ grains on the weight? I am not a tech guy so I am out of the loop on any kind of mechanical sharpeners. Fortunately, I still have a ton of razor sharp heads that I can remove from other arrows, but I will need to sharpen these boys eventually. Thanks for any help I can get.

Since I started this post, I have bought a Gatco Edgemate carbide knife sharpener.  The angle is 25 degrees instead of 20 like many carbide sharpeners.  It really made short work of sharpening my dull Magnus II broadheads without removing so much metal from the "shoulders" of the bevel. Redi-edge makes a tactical model carbide sharpener that is available in different angles including 30 degrees.  Of course you could always get a good 6 inch file to start with....
