How do you guys ship arrows that are fletched and painted.  Don't want them to get ruined going through the mail.

Your packing job is only as good as the guy handling it.  I have seen stuff that should have been destroyed come thru without a scratch and then some that were sealed better than a time capsule come destroyed.  That being said, the rectangular arrow boxes seem to hold up the best, but use PLENTY of arrow cushining and spacers.

I use the priority mail triangular document tubes that the post office gives away. Six arrows up and six down with packing material top and bottom as well as wrapped about the middle. It's not as sexy as receiving an actual arrow bow but the boxes are free (as opposed to the very high cost of arrow boxes from someplace like 3rivers) and I've never had a mishap.

I always shipped completed arrows using the priority boxes. I kept the arrows separated by cutting two pieces of cardboard the triangle shape of the inside of the box. I punched 12 holes in each piece of cardboard and inserted the shafts into the holes in the cardboard to keep them from touching.

I have found that the 36 inch tubes that are at Office depot work outstanding for shipping a dozen arrows and have not had problems with the arrows arriving to the customers damaged. I use old wal-mart bages in the bottom to cushion the field tips as my arrows are ready to fly when they arrive.

The arrow boxes that they make to ship arrows. Never had a problem.

A nice thick cardboard tube with circular cardboard spacers works well.  The end cardboard spacers get holes to slip the nocks and tips through, and then 1 middle spacer with slotted holes to keep the shafts apart.

If you were really paranoid you cou8ld always ship them in  36" piece of 4 or 5" pvc. Thats how alot of guys ship bows for the bow swap and it works fine.

I use arrow boxes with foam dividers.

I've used both arrow boxes and the postal triangle boxes...but prefer the arrow boxes with foam dividers.

The arrow boxes will keep the feathers from compressing or getting beat up. Like Magnus I prefer the foam dividers.
