Had a new ranch hand start today and was out showing him around when this guy jumped out of the brush. He wasn't too happy, think we buggered his deer hunt. Maybe he'll be back this fall...    :D

Very nice picture ... I have spent most of my life roaming the woods doing one thing or another and have NEVER seem a cougar. I have seen their tracks, scat, and kills but never the cat.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

That's not necessarily a bad thing Ken. This is the third one so far this year. I'm convinced this is the reason we have a hard time growing mulie bucks to maturity up here...  Still pretty cool though.

Hey Tracy, good to see you back!

What a lot of folks don't understand is they will take down a big mature buck also. Those loaner bucks are easy targets without a lot of other eyes to sense the cat stalking in.
Hope you find him again!

X2 on them being especially hard on big loner bucks. I know first hand how big of animals they will attack, last year we had one attack a nice team roping horse of ours and the horse barely escaped that one alive.
Now then, get your weapons, your quiver and your bow and go out into the open country to hunt some wild game for me.- Genesis 27:3

I have a honey hole I hunt for elk. But I hardly ever see any deer there. One year I saw a momma kitty and three cubs. They were almost full grown. I guess that answered why there were no deer in the area. Gary
