Has anybody had experience with a Rainy Day bow? Quiet? Smooth drawing? Bowyer? Craftmenship? Pics please. Thank you.

I have shot quit a few of Georges bows and all have shot very well. They are quit and very smooth. But best of all is you hit what you are shooting at.I have picked up a new bow George has made and right away it hits what i aim at.George spends alot of time on each bow he make, spending alot of time picking out each piece of wood to make a great looking bow.If you get one of his bows you will be a happy archer! The best thing is talk with George.

luvnlongbow

Yup. Very smooth and dead in the hand. Shoots where you look.

I had the pleasure of shooting the pass around bow George sent out last year (or was it year before last).

Anyway, I have to say, I was an idiot for not buying it from him after it made its rounds.  Just one of those bows that had it all.  Smooth, quiet, and man could I hit what I was shooting at with it.

I'm a sucker for recurves with belly mounted limbs.  I own, or have owned, a few...George's bow hangs tough with them all.

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

I didn't like the pass around bow I tried at all.  Felt clunky and unfinished to me, grip had no ergonomics to my mind.

I actually spoke with George about the grip.  Personally, I liked it, but it needed to be smaller for me.  He said he could make the grip the way the buyer wants it.

Thank you all for your comments.

Im sure if you wanted any type of grip that you wanted he could build it for you. Grip feel is very personal. It matches the shooter style and feel. To send out a pass around bow that the grip would fit everyone would be impossible.

George's bows are great shooting bows. In fact, I just ordered one last month and he just completed it. I'm picking it up next week and I will post pictures. George stayed in touch with me through the whole process and accomadated every request I made in making the bow just how I wanted it. He made my grip exactly as I requested, hit the poundage I requested, and all the other things I wanted. He's a great guy and does great work. I'm really excited to pick it up and will post more after I get some arrows through it.

Well, here is the update on my new Rainy Day Bow I promised.

I got with George and picked up the bow on Wednesday. Today is Saturday and it's the first time I had to get out and shoot the bow. George did an outstanding job on this bow. It turned out beautiful and I am very pleased with the detail he put into this bow. I'm going to post some pictures so you can see for yourself. My camera is not the best, so I hope you can see the detail I'm talking about. Here goes:

So when I got out today to shoot the bow, I grabbed 4 different arrows. I grabbed some woods, 35-40's, Predator 2 carbons 700's, some Easton 2013's and some Easton 1816's. I got back to 22 yards and after a warmup of a few arrows to stretch myself out a bit this is what I got. Keep in mind this bow is straight from george. The only thing I have done is tie on some nocks and add a bow tip protector. The brace height was at 8 3/8's. Here is the results:

I decided to play with the 1816's for a bit. I stepped back to 30 yards and got this:

You will notice the one low arrow, but actually it was going right in the group but hit another arrows nock and glanced down.

Georges Rainy Day Bow is not only beautiful, but shoots great. Like I said, at this point I haven't even tuned anything. It draws really smooth for me and when I shoot the bow it follows through the shot. It's very quiet and has zero hand shock---really---it has none. The speed is as good as any other bow I own. I'm not one of those guys that wants or needs speed, but wanted to mention it for you guys. I'm very very impressed with Rainy Day Bows. I think I'm gonna be really happy with this bow. Look George up. The best part of the whole bow buying process was talking to George every week.
He is one heck of a guy. Thank you again George. I am a very, very happy customer. That's it. Hope this information helps you guys who have wondered about Georges bows. P.S.--I'm really impressed that all 4 of those arrows sizes shot really well with no tuning. Pretty awsome.
