Nothing came up in searches so lets see photos of damaged broadheads. Tell how they were ruined by rocks, bones or whatever else. Show fractured chunks missing, ruptured ferrules, bent tips, broken inserts, damaged blades, failed welds, etc.
In advance, please no "best broadhead wars" as we all know most BHs are of good quality and can all work or fail depending on the situation. I feel it is good to study both failure and success.
Thanks.

Brock

I throw my damaged heads away but have only had two damaged in 20 years.  One was a Zwickey Eskimo 125....on pheasant hunt with Traditional Bowhunters of Maryland back in 90s....spotwelds that attach the ferrule to blade came loose on one side.  The other was Zwickey Delta that the tip curled on me after shooting through a Nutria and hitting some driftwood buried in mud on Eastern Shore Nutria hunt also with TBM in 90s.  That is when i switched to Ribteks....

I have an old Bear Razorhead that is all rolled up like the lid on an old sardine can after hitting the shoulder on a Spanish goat.  I'll see if I can find it and get a pic.

reddogge

I hit a cinderblock last year by accident with an old Bear Razorhead. Mistook the cinder block for the groundhog's body (head was on top so it looked like his body). Seven yard shot but broadhead wasn't damage so I resharpened it and back into the quiver.

My favorite , Simmons Interceptor . This happened a few years ago in Austrailia , my shooting wasn't what I hoped it would be on a nice hog . I didn't miss the basalt rock though , dead center . 76# Black Widow recurve . Fred

Good stuff guys. Keep em' coming.
I reshaped/straightened and filed a few to re-use for small game and practice.
A few pass through BHs on big game were re-used until lost.
Was able to replace a few ruined inserts on otherwise good BH.
Some of the stronger quality heads transferred the force to the shaft which broke behind the insert(the next weakest link) as most have experienced. Wish I took cameras more often!!

wow...proves that hard stone or concrete are not the best backstops...LOL

The way I was shooting that day he would have been in more danger if I wasn't aiming at him . Now if you were shooting at him he would have been digested long before now ! Good to hear from you Luke ,   Fred

Stump shooting into a cow pelvis with my thunderchild that is a little over 53# at my draw.  Total arrow weight a little over 600 grains, I think.  My buddy blew through the thick part of it with your run of the mill ACE head right after this.  Haven't used this type of broadhead since.

Guess it wasn't a failer, the deer went 40yds. but it did break. Went thru both lungs and stop in the off side shoulder. Magnus Stinger, great head.
