I have a split bamboo and a trophy hunter both are great shooters, John was an outstanding bowyer for many years and contributed much to keeping the Hill style American longbow in production when the big rage was compounds. We are lucky he taught a few students the proper techniques in bow building. David Miller is one and  he continues to carry on the legacy of the American Hill style longbow along with a few others.

I have a Hill Tembo that John built and love it.  Wish I had one of his American Longbows, maybe someday.  Met him several times; he's a great inspiration and always willing to share.

I have several, Split Bamboo's, Trophy hunters and Favorites and love them all. I never shot a bad Schulz bow. I am glad he taught others like Dave Miller to keep these bows available. If you want to experience a Schulz bow and can't find the real thing Dave Miller pretty much makes a clone of them.

I've had an all natural 'Granpa' and currently have an American Longbow - both are amazing 'best of breed' bows IMHO.

I fully agree with the above comments concerning Dave Miller - he is turning out a bow very much in line with John's teachings.

He is one bowyer that I need to add to my collection.  I guess that's enough said.

I've got two. A Hill Big Five (75#) and a  American Archery Trophy Hunter. (110#)I'd sell it to the right person.

For my money the finest Hill style bows ever made.

Here's the Big Five...

I have a Hunter and a Legend.  i tried to sell them for $500 a couple of years ago because i had a finger injury and had no takers.  Don't get all excited, neither one is for sale, since my finger healed and I can shoot them again.  Very minimum hand shock with a dacron string and shockingly fast, the perfect longbow.

Brently

I have a Hill Tembo that he built, what a great bow.  Sure would like to have another bow that he built.

I received one from BowhunterGA and cherish it.

I have a Shulz "The Favorite" string follow, brown glass back and belly. Really nice shooting bow. My favorite bows are Shulz style American semi longbows, deep cores and narrow limbs is where it's at! Pete George was one of John Shulz 's students and made my favorite bows.I have a few of them.
Kelly, that "Granpa" is a beauty,I'd love to find one for sale.

My schulz was recently refinished an worked by Nate Steen. It's the only bow I have right now.... a left handed trophy hunter. For some reason it seems to be the only bow I've shot that doesn't really care what arrow I shoot with it, they all fly straight!

I just purchased a Schulz all wood longbow today, the Tonkin.  I'm so stoked I can't wait for it to arrive.  It will sit along side my Schulz fiberglass and bamboo longbow that i already own.  On top of that David Miller just mailed my new Expedition yesterday, what a great way to end the week!

Rossco7002

Congrats man! I loved my all natural Schulz and currently have one in brown glass that is SWEET!

My Expedition arrived last week - AMAZING bow man, you're gonna be blown away!
