Your family plans their family reunions around your hunts! It started out this year with my dad and I decided that we would buy deer tags for family members that were down on their luck. He doesn't bow hunt but I invited my dad to come along and camp and do some fishing. He is getting pretty old and I've been trying to do as much as I can with him. Then my sister moved back to town so I invited her to come camp with us on the opener since I had bought her boys deer tags. Then I get this call from my brother " I hear we are having the family reunion on the opening weekend of the bow hunt". It was all news to me! I guess everyone else decide that this would be the only time they could get me to come to one because they all know that I only take my precious vacation time for hunts or my wife. It's going to be fun I just hope they don't mind when I take off and go with my bivy!

HAHA sounds like me.  I always tell the family, no weddings, parties ect. during hunting season.  I should suggest that to my wife, Hunting/family reunion that she knows I will show up.

I am going back to visit family for Thanksgiving in Michigan and that other state.  A week of whitetail hunting has already been scheduled.

It's bad when your wife gets the preacher to have a talk with you about hunting so much.

Mike Vines

That's the way it's supposed to be.

When my wife was being wheeled into the operating room at 10:30 PM to have my 1st son on September 30th, 2003 the Doctor looked at me and said "Don't worry Mr. Vines, we will have him out before Deer season".  It opens here on October 1st, and I have not missed one since 1994.

The Doctor knew what my priorities were, my wife has learned and accepted them.
