I discussed this with wife.  I have over few decades taken my fair share of eastern's in illinois.  So, as of this fall I am planning on trying to attempt what few have done and that is to take a Turkey slam with Longbow.  Likely, go after Rio's or Merriam's first, then perhaps next spring work on the Florida turkey.  I expect it to be challenging and beautiful country at same time.  Any information or comments much appreciated.

Good luck toddster, I went after Osceolas this past March With True South Adventures.  Had a gobbler at about 7 yards but saw me as I drew on him.  My buddy Kent Zocher has done it, and almost got'er done this year, just didn't get the Eastern.

I`m thinking about the same thing myself. Those Turkeys with the white tip fan are as beautiful a bird as I`ve seen.RC

I got the rio and eastern. Joebuck has all 6 species with homemade bow, calls, and no blind. That's insane. When most folks are opening Christmas Gifts or going to the movies or anything else, He's either turkey hunting or thinking about turkey hunting.

Good luck to ya. I would love to try the same thing one day. God bless.

I know how Joebuck feels, I have the same turkey affliction here.  Just something about them that is more addicting to me than whitetails, perhaps the challenge.
