I am shooting a left hand 60" Hoyt Buffalo 50#@28", 8 1/2" brace height and I draw it 27". My arrows are Easton Legacy 2016 cut 29 1/2" from valley of the nock groove to end of shaft with 150 grain point and 5 1/2" shield cut feathers. I admit I want PERFECT arrow flight all the time but I just can't quite get there with this rig. They will fly great a few times and the they tail to the left.I have changed point weight with no help. What do I have wrong?
Thanks
Tom

Is the Buffalo bow cut to center or past center?  2016s spine about 60#.  I'm assuming you're shooting a fast flite type string.  That, and the relatively heavy head, which softens the spine and 1 1/2 inches of arrow length that you don't need, which also softens the dynamic spine means you might just need a little more arrow spine, particularly if your bow is cut past center.

Start by dropping to a 125 grain point.  Or cut off an inch of arrow length.  Each will have about the same effect.  Both will double the increase in dynamic stiffness. In short, a 2016 should work with your set up if you can find the right point weight and/or arrow length.  Good luck.

P.S. It also could be that your form is inconsistent, of course.

Trickshot

If you are shooting a lefty and getting the occasional left kick then you probably don't need to go lighter on the tip. I try to go just a bit heavy for a slightly weak shaft just in case I short draw a little.

Yes I tried 125's not good. It looks to be cut to center not past. I also tried 175's nothing changed. I am using a SBD string. It could be my form.

Ever think you may be getting tired?? I get a slight kick when it happens, especially after I shoot several arrows in a row. I even had someone stand behind me to see what they can see. After you first noticed it, take a little break then come back to it to see if there's an improvement. I would try that before you start investing in different sized arrow shafts and so on. Best of luck Tom.

Your brace height is alittle high.Hoyt recommended brace for a Buffalo is 7" to 8".I shoot mine at 7&5/8",shoots great for me and quiet.

What's the nock height?  Might need to go up a bit.

Well I said I tried 125's but if I did I must have been tired because tried them first shots today and they fly like darts. I looked at 3 rivers spine chart after and at 29 1/2" on a 2016 they call for 125. I also think when I get tired my release get's bad. Thanks for the help.

Agree with JMG

If they are flying fine for the first several shots and then start having poor flight, sounds to me like you may be getting tired and losing a bit of form.

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

Mudd

If they are flying good a majority of the time then chances are the off shots aren't the arrow or the bow.

What is the last thing you can check?

Try a 100 to if you can find them.  Sbd strings require a lot more spine then others.

I'm shooting a 55# buffalo and I had this problem also. I switched to a Easton FMJ 500 with a total weight up front of 200 grains. Perfect arrow for an imperfect shooter

hunt it

Try 2500 or 300gr up front as see what that does for your flight.
