Well, I filled my second Ky spring turkey permit this morning but only after having a panic attack!!

A nice longbeard and his gals have been roosting downhill from my blind on a hardwood point. A few mornings ago I became impatient (hearing no gobbling) and left my blind too early ... managed to spook hens that saw me crawling out of the blind as they entered the field to feed.  Of course after they flushed back into the woods I heard HIM gobbling as he following them AWAY from me.  Decided to let the spot rest a few days before screwing up again:^).

This morning I was running late as I sneaked into the field.  The birds were ready to pitch down for their morning stroll upward but I knew that my blind was in a great spot, problem was the blind was no longer INTACT when I got there! It had been visited by the local herd of snooping cows.  Three rods were broken and the front was literally ripped to threads!!!  To top it off a huge pile of cow crap was IN the blind with my folding stool (no pun intended) stuck in the middle of it. I could hear the birds on the ground and CLOSING.  Quickly digging my Shaggie suit from my backback I hastily began tying it to anything in site in the hopes of "patching" the front wall which was no longer there.

The first hen was in the field and closing on me as I tied the last bit of Shaggie to the broken rods.  A second and third hen appeared and then the old boy himself. Somehow I managed to combine a dose of desperation and a good amount of luck into the next few seconds ... check out the photos. Talk about "gobbler fever"!!

Well Done Gary.  As always Great Pictures.  Sorry about your blind. I guess those cows showed you what they thought of you hunting their pasture.
Relax,

That blind has served my son and I well. Its time to scrap it for spare parts and move on.

Excellent job...congrats...

Had a cow in Nebraska this spring stick her head thru the blind window and was merely inches away from my cell phone that was lying on the ground.
