Julian OUTSTANDING story my friend...absolutely loved it. I would have paid a hundred dollars to see the look on Joe's face when you thumped that bird  :)  After reading the rest of the story I really wish I would have stayed...kids were fine by the time I got home.

We gotta do another hunt together some time...I got some ideas  ;)  and the offer still stands bud.

I got one thing to say to Joe...you shot Stubby. I waited 7 hours in 85 degrees with Dirttnap Dave suffering from Gumboenteritis to kill that bird and you confuse him with a jake    "[dntthnk]"   No respect, I tell ya. Birds with short beards get no respect...

Every time I see a picture of Joe here, he is looking like a cross between Goth and Rob tattoo!  Look at the sleeves on that guy    ;)

I had to wait for this one to slow down so i could read it all at once.  Lots of fun there boys.  Really enjoyed it.

It's cold and I couldn't go to work because of the condition of our roads. I am reading all the turkey threads and loving them. This one just makes my day because of the great guys I got to spend time with...142 days to spring turkey season    :p

Diet..... I don't think so. I have been binge eating so I'll be ready for this marathon of good eats. So looking forward to this trip. Need to post me a pic of the Rio mounted.

Gonna miss you Whip!!! If the snow ever melts I am going to start to get my kit together for the trip...and start planning a couple of evening meals. I might have to do one of those Yankee skillet breakfast things in case Joey goes into withdrawals  :)

That first evening we all got situated and shared some stories. Hunting with quality folks is a good thang

It's like a bad joke: so a railroad conductor, an animal doc, a banker, an IT guy and a healthcare provider all walk in a bar...I mean a lodge.

We didn't starve to death either: I made a turkey and sausage gumbo, Dave made a deer roast and Whip threw down on some type of potato and egg brunch dish...it was awesome! Hey Joe Buck...I know you missed the turkey huntin' but I hear this is what you REALLY missed!

I managed to get some protien for my little gumbo dish but had to share it with another critter. More about that story in a bit...

Joe, how come you never cook breakfast like this when I am around?

I was just digging around looking to improve my turkey hunting knowledge and THIS definitely has my attention.  Looks like it would be a good Dutch Oven item...
