The North Carolina Traditional Archery Rendezvous was April 19th and 20th.  Friday was very wet and Saturday was an incredibly beautiful spring day - but both days were loads of fun.  Kerr Scott Lake near North Wilkesboro, NC is a terrific venue and if you didn't make it this year, we hope to see you next year.

Ready to join the fun at the Registration Tent.

A few warm up shots before we hit the range.

What are we waiting for.  Let's go DO IT!

The "mentor" and the "student".  Wish someone had done this for me 50 years ago :-)

Pick out your new bow from Big Jim's Bow Co. tent or one of the numerous other archery vendors.

Having some fun with the fire starting demonstration.

I only heard good things about this guy's jerky and cheese.  LOTS of people were talking.

and if a custom longbow is your preference......

Supervising the kid's shoot.

This young man was GOOD!

I KNOW I can figure this out.

I'm good!  I just won this dollar bill with my shooting prowess.

Aerials sure are fun.

Especially when you can make the shot.

And some guys can "nail" it.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Drew, absolutely a great story you put together there. And, I would have said that even if I was not in one of those pictures.

Thanks from all of us!

Many thanks to the Boomer Fire Department for providing the food to keep all of us going.  And this lucky fireman walked away from the raffle with a NICE new bow.

Many thanks to Compton Traditional Bowhunters for being a co-sponsor at NCTAR.  This lucky gentleman won their print at the raffle.  Sweet!

What a treat to get to hear Fred Asbell speak on instinctive shooting.  Wish I could have heard that talk a few decades ago :-)

Terrific presentation.

And the last event of the weekend was a Saturday night "Coon Shoot".  Ten of those critters to hit in the dark.

This will definitely put your instinctive shooting skills to the test.  A very fun shoot to end the day.
