I'm using velcro as a rest material and CE Heritage arrows.  The arrows make more noise than I'm comfortable with when I'm drawing.  Changing rests at this time is not an option.  Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and come up with a good solution.  Thought about waxing the arrow shaft or using some teflon spray to slick it up.  Any ideas?

Seal Skin is QUIET. I dont know what to tell ya about velcro.  Carbon magnifies the noise for some reason

You could try some cooking spray. That has worked for me in the past.

Seal skin on the side plate cured my drawing noise

ran into the same problem last season. I didn't realize how loud it was until i was trying to draw on a young buck opening weekend. Needless to say, he didn't hang around.

I was trying to think of a quick and easy solution that wouldnt affect my setup. Then it came to me!!!...a BAND-AID!! Not the plastic or cloth ones, but the almost fine suede feeling ones. Feel off the white pad thingy and then just apply one on the side of the window and one on the plate. Problem solved. I hunted all season without replacing them. Not the prettiest, but theres a bobcat, a doe, and a hog that could attest to there silencing abilities....if they were still breathing that is  ;)

I had a problem with noise coming from my leather glove making a squeaking noise on the nocks, even self nocks as I drew. I used furniture polish/wax on the nocks and glove and there is no noise at all now.

I'm having the same problem this year... last year used a recurve with sealskin rest - quiet as a mouse.  This year using a Robertson longbow with some sort of hard leather rest.  There's definitely noise as the wood slides across the rest.  If I find a fix, I'll let you know!

Velcro is the problem....I ditched that as a rest material years ago for the same reason.

Not sure why changing out the rest isn't an option....shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

I had always shot calf hair and then bought 2 new bows, one with velcro type rug rest and the other with a leather rest. I shoot aluminum arrows and I was amazed that people were able to draw on close deer with those types of rests. I changed both of those bows to calf hair and will not use anything that is not at least as quiet. I have not had the need to look as yet.

So what do I do about my creaking\\popping elbow and shoulder????   :(

Yeah what Terry said!

Changing it not an option?  Wow it takes me more time to drink a cup of coffee than to tear off a rug-rest, cut seal skin to match, glue it on there, and ensure the nock's still at the correct location...

And you should get a hair better flight from seal skin than from velcro anyway...

Steve, buy a sealskin rest, drop it in yer coffee in the morning, let it soak 5 mins then enjoy. Do this every day for a week:)
