Got into leather about 6 or 7 months ago, I enjoy it now that I've spent a lot of $$$ getting the correct tools. I want to attempt to make a nice back quiver, but first I'm just going to stick to a simple pocket style quiver.

Any one else made their own? Also, with any tooling; thats my main attraction to leather work.

Thanks guys

I am not a lether guy!

Thaer are several here who do amazing work though. I bet a few will chime in.

Good luck in your endeavor.

I posted this latest make in the epic HH thread.

It now has a few coats of Lexol and olive oil and I have shot with it. It's breaking in nicely. I'll try to get a recent pic of it now that it' darker with the treatments.

I love dabbling in leatherwork. Not so much the tooling part though but I still do some.

Beside my last quiver build for size comparison. Now to let it dry and then fine tune.

I've done some quivers, knife sheaths, arm guards, and holsters, but mine are pretty utilitarian...no decorations. I wouldn't mind trying the tooling if I only had a few less irons already in the fire.

I do. I do lots of tooling, stamping and carving. I've done several arm guards, a few knife sheaths, some iPhone cases and a few wallets. I plan on getting a side business going soon and selling some things.

Basket weave tooling looks soooo nice....but it's a PAIN to do.

Those quivers look real nice!

I've been making back quivers for probably 20 years.  They are basic, no frills, just the right stiffness and length. It was one of those things I started messing around with because I didn't have the money to buy one.

I've never sold one, I just give them away to friends and family when they get started in traditional archery. My way of giving something back.

I work at a truck body and trailer plant. The engineers have a really cool laser engraver for making VIN plates. We started burning out some nice armguards with it, then stitch on antler buttons and add stretch lace.  I just made one for my buddy who is a plumber. It has crossed pipe wrenches engraved on it. Saaweeet! And just like the quivers, I just give them away. Heck, I'm making them at work!  :)

Here's an arm guard I carved with the western floral pattern.  Arm Guard

And a knife sheath.

Not sure how to post pics, I do have a little work to share. Nothing I feel to compare to the work on here though! Great stuff, I personally like the "floral" art. I want to specialize in the outdoors stuff like sheaths, arm guards, quivers, etc. I'm pretty descent at tooling, The hand stitching is definatly a learning curve though. Hand lacing I have done pretty good as well.

I'm no pro at either but I started making simple sheaths for my knives. It's alot of fun.
Benjy, where did you get that black handled knife? It looks like a helle blade I made years ago. Mike

Bodork, Your knives are just nuts. Amazing work. Your sheath work is just as good.

Here are a few quivers and such I've done. Nothing fancy, but they were fun to make and a joy to use.
