I had Chad build me a dual shelf longbow when I won the bid on last years St.Judes auction. I really liked it and thought I should have a recurve to compliment it. So I ordered a 62" River Runner with the 50's grip and a dual shelf. I'm a cocobolo and Osage fan so that's what I ordered. Then I thought about the lams and couldn't decide what to get. I told Chad to use his judgment and to pick something he thought would look good with the riser woods. He decided to go with a grainy cherry, then overlays on the front and back. Specs are 62" 45# @ 29" and to say I'm pleased would be an understatement. Performance is great, smooth to draw and light in the hand. This is my 4th bow from Chad and I can't say enough good things about his skills as a bowyer.......and the he is just a nice guy to deal with. Cyclic-Rivers [Charlie} is going to post a photo or 2 for me so I can share my new bow with you all!

Grats Ron!

I recently purchased a used river runner from a tg member. I contacted Chad and he told me that the bow is unique in that there were only 3-4 of em made. Its from his original form from about six years ago. When i first heard this i thought oh no! But Chad reassured me there was no problem with the bow. And he is correct, he only made a few changes, the bow is awesome, great shooter, fast and smooth, suprisingly smooth. I really love his grip, coming from a longbow straight grip kinda guy, i didnt think i would, but do. Learning different things everyday with this bow. Probably first and last recurve to own since i really like the lb. I like messing around with it. If anyonen gets a chance to shoot a river runner, you should, they are a pleasure to shoot. Cocobola riser, boo limbs and hickory veneers, a real beaut. Also chad made me a new string with cool little wool balls and special woven pieces by the tips to prevent string slap, this alone in my book shows that this bowyer, Chad, goes that extra mile. If he does this with a string,  one has to believe he does this with everything.

Ron good luck with the new bow and enjoy!

Sounds awesome Ron!  Just before the new year I sold the two Holms I had bought used on the classifieds, and I only did so willingly because I full well intend on ordering one someday direct from Chad 100% to my specs.  He is one of my favorite bowyers for sure, love his bows.

Definitely a nice Bow!  Enjoy the pics.  The best part about this bow is.. Because Chad and Ron are so generous, proceeds went to st. Judes.  The next auction is coming up soooo start saving you $ and thinking of auction donations.   :readit:

without further ado here is Ron's St. Jude's Chad Holm River runner     :clapper:
