Im a fan of wide 2 blades for deer and anything else for that matter. Lets try and gather a list of all of the available heads that fit the above criteria.

I have some Simmons that Ive never been able to get sharp as Id like but Im gonna buy a wheel this year. I love Zephyr Sasquatch but they can be hard to come by and my favorite, most killinest broadhead, the Silver Flame 180 XL are also a bear to sharpen and not cheap.

Please add any Ive missed. Im looking to make a decision on one head for the whole upcoming season. Never too early to plan.   >>>----{> Izzy

Centaur Big Game - 1.75" wide

Centaur Battle Ax - 2.125" wide

Awesome heads

my favorite.. zwickey Delta  1 3/8
             magnus MA1 I think is 1 9/16
i do think the sasquatch is a killin head, everything i have shot with them bled out quick and fell very quickly.. with good blood trails, they sharpen, mount and fly very well  but i have seen some duribility issues

Those Centaur Battle Axe's are one "BAD" looking head!

Are the glue on and screw in models both 200 gr?

Nice thread by the way.....will be watching this one.

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

WESTBROOK

Magnus 1, 1.5"

Ace Super Express, 175 & 200, 1 7/16"

All I use is the GK Silverflame XL in 150gr.

I also have a few of the 180gr, 1 7/8" GK Silverflames that I shoot turkeys with!

Bisch

I have one of those  1 7/8 silver flames that Joeybuck gave me. It's not a german made one though so I'm sure it doesn't work as good as one of the originals. LOL

The Ace Express 165 is 1 3/8, easy to sharpen and very reasonable to buy.  I like the straight edge on it.  Then there are the Ace Super Express.  A bit wider yet and convex.  Still easy to sharpen and reasonable.  The Ace heads hold their edge very well, too.

I hope to try the Simmons Interceptor/Safari this fall.

Don and Bisch...perhaps those wide GK Silverflame XL's should be renamed 'The Short Recovery Series'.

Izzy I have been useing the ACE 175 and 200 grain heads for two seasons now. Real easy to get sharp with a file and leather strop. They hold their edge real good in and out of the quiver. I do touch them up before a hunt but it does not take alot of effort. Great design and its not going to kill your check book to loose a few.

A lot of critters fell to the Magnus I for me.  Prefer the Eclipse 145 with the bleeder now.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I've used the same heads for over 40 years n they still work fine, 160 Ace and zwickey deltas.

I just posted this pic in another thread but I am starting to swear by the TreeSharks.  I hit a deer after a high backbone shot and the second arrow was a TreeShark and she was dead in seconds with a shot through the rib cage.
This pig ran ten steps after the shot.  I have found the razor edge and a hewlett jewel stick to sharpen these things very quick.

Another vote for ACE.  Price is also hard to beat.
