I received My Koa Vixen Longbow on March 1 Friday just before my trip to Hawaii for my class reunion. I flew out on March 2. I'm sorry for being late in posting but I have never posted photos before and my vacation came first. I decided to attach a link to Skydrive. If it doesn't work I will need assistance. The theme for this bow is Hawaii. 50lbs for the 50th state and also Hawaii Five 0. Koa wood from Hawaii. I have never owned or shot a JD Berry Longbow. I was in for a surprise. I received this longbow in a box from the post office & I was not sure if a bow was in there. This longbow is very light and it weighs close to my Schulz Natural all bamboo longbow. The bow has bamboo core with Koa wood lamination front & back. It has myrtle wood for the riser. The specs 66" length 50# @ 27.5" med grip. It comes with fastflight string. The longbow is quite without silencers. No hand shock which is a surprise and you shoot with a regular grip and no heel down. I have settled with a brace height of 6.25 and wood arrows 65-69 spine with 190gr fieldpt at 28" long. That was the only wood spine that I have on hand that will shoot out of this bow & it will be perfect weight for hunting Elk especially for Oregon with their 50# limit for elk. I have wood shafts at 45-49 spine but that was too weak. The grip fits me perfect and the limb tips surprise me in size. They were not over built to shoot with fastflight. Oh, did I say how great it shoots. It cast a heavy arrow with good speed. I have not been to our archery range to test this bow & have only shot it aroung 35yds in my backyd. I need to shoot it at 60 to 80 yds.
Here's the link.

In my opinion this is the best longbow that i have shot and owned. The price is great and the craftmanship is right on. I am also waiting for James to build my target longbow so I can see if I can out shoot James and his brother Dan.

Link worked fine for me,Nice bow!

SportHunter

That is a beautiful bow. You guys aren't making this easy, may have to place an order....

Darn!!

This is one that surely won't hurt your eyes.

I have to agree with Sporthunter.

Between you and jwhitetail it just keeps getting harder and harder to have much self control.

Thanks for sharing. (I think)..lol

God bless,Mudd

Very nice bow George!

I'm sure you will have it at the Moses Lake shoot for all of us to fondle.

Aloha Lineman72,
That is a cherry blossom tree and as I'm typing with the warm sunlight it is really blooming. When I was younger I use to climb the telephone poles with the pole climbers. Since I'm older I don't shoot from a high tree but I did a zip line in Alaska with the wife & it was not my idea.

hawaiiarcher

Aloha Lon,
I won't be at the Moses Lake Shoot. I will be on the Viking China Cruise at that time so you can't fondle the Vixen. Its funny as we get older our priorities change. Moses Lake gets pretty cold at night and sleeping with the Vixen longbow is not warm enough. Too skinny but the recurve, maybe, it has more curves but Chris with the Das, now that's COLD.

Lineman72

That was a pretty picture hawaiiarcher, thanks for painting it. I can almost feel the warm sun rays. :-) I still climb with my climbers, only when its neccessary now. Bucket trucks do most of the work :-)
Peace

Aloha Lineman72,
Are you working for the electrical or telehone industry? When I first started to work for the Telephone Co the phones were still dial phones. I notice that one of your interest is jujitsu. I worked with one of the founders of Kajukempo, Frank Ordonez.
