Need a recurve for bowfishing.. looking at something cheap, reliable, and able to punch a heavy arrow through a few scales.  Can anyone offer any insight into the PSE Kingfisher or the Martin Jaguar?   I really don't feel like getting my father's Shakespeare all mudded up...

Thanks in advance!

Buy a Samick with the stabilizer adapter, different models can be had for as little as $125. Shawn

If you are looking to buy new, The samick is a good recommendation.  Personally I would try and find  a used bow for cheap and use it and abuse it!

I'm with these guys.  You don't need anything fancy for bowfishing.  It is going to be abused.

Ive always thought the pre-packaged fishing rigs were way overpriced.

Found and use a bear grizzly really cheap. Had quiver inserts drilled into the riser. Wasn't worth much at that point but works great for my purpose.

Have fun and enjoy!!

Bingo.  Mine's an old Samick Mountain Hunter - don't think they even make it anymore, but it was under 100.

Charlie hit it.  If its for carp the cheaper the better.  It will be used and abused.  Any old recurve 35#s or above will do. AMS sells a device for attaching it to any bow .

Like others have said. Look for an old Bear or Pearson ect. and drill for inserts. Put an AMS or other typ reel on and let the carp arrows fly. I bought a k-mag off this site for bowfishing last fall. It had inserts for a AMS reel. Just the set up I was looking for. I had a strap on gadget adapter, others like those but I did'nt. I like a solid set up.

I use a Bear Grizzly and I'm on my 2nd AMS reel. It has really taken a unintentional beating.

I have a pse kingfisher that I bought for bow fishing it's a great bullet proof rig gets used and abused and is no worse for the wear.  I don't worry about it getting to wet like I would with a wood bow
