I would look into a old bear Grizzly or a K-Mag. If its cheap and beat up then drill for inserts. If you buy a bow from the early '70s it should have a stabilizer insert already in it. I can shoot the fiberglass arrows from my #45 K-Mag with no problem. Check your local Pawn Shops. Last week a guy at work was asking me about a Grizzly he seen at a pawn shop for $99.00. He had pics on his cell phone. I had all I could do to NOT drive over and buy it, looked like a '77 or a '78 Grizzly and  looked in good shape.
