Just finished up a great weekend at Dead Horse ranch. Kory and Vicky Kais were down chasing swine.Dan Anderson(MA)and his friend Brian(sorry didn't get your last name Brian) were ending their spring break odyssey with a hog hunt.
As they were finishing up their hog hunts, Kent Zocher was arriving trying to complete another turkey slam!
I will let Irv chime in since he started them off on their hunt......

Jim,
Kory and Vicky had a great time. The swirling and gusty winds out of the north didn't help much and the Kais's and Dan and Brian were literally surrounded by curious and vocal hogs numerous times. The wind had them very spooky and for Vicky, Dan and Brian, the bigger ones just would not show themselves.
Although most could have shot weaned shoats, they decided not to. Everybody hunted hard, and Vicky donned her longjohns and hunted like a trooper.
All four shot numerous Gar in the canals, Vicky got several nice Tillapia, and Dan bagged the biggest Gar I've seen in these canals.
Kory shot 3 hogs and recovered the nicest one, about a 125# boar.
Dan and Brian are talking about returning in June to take advantage of our Summer special.
I'm sure they willall want to give you their stories in detail, so watch the Pow Wow.

Kory and Vicky are great people!  Kory is one of the best shots I know. Vicky is a sweetheart and a bowl full of laughs to boot.
Congrats to Kory on a hog.  With a little luck Kory will turn the hog into some good eats at our next shoot!!!!

It was a real pleasure having them in camp. Irv and I had donated a hunt to Traditional Bowhunters of WI and Kory was the high bidder last spring.
Both Kory and Vicky are excellent hunters and I'll never forget trailing one of Kory's hogs and having a different big boar show up 6 yards away! I will let Kory or Vicky tell the rest of that one.....

Looking good there.  I was just down in central FL for a week a little coast to coast, have a sister north of Tampa, would love to do some turkey and hog hunting in FL, hard to convince the whole family that a hunting trip would be a family trip....send the family to the beach while I hunt.....

tarponnut

Yeah, we are only ten miles to the beach, Hutchinson Island, it's beautiful there.

Thanks Jim and Irv,
Speaking for myself but I am sure I can include Dan in this, I had the time of my life on the adventures  your outfit was able to provide for us this past spring break! I am really looking forward to rebooking another trip down there as soon as I can, The North Eastern boys have to show the Wisconsin hunters we are able to produce too! Overall thanks again for the hospitality and awesome hunting you guys were able to offer us.

Brian,
It was great having you guys down to hunt with us. Irv was telling me that if you and Dan are any indication, the future of traditional bowhunting is safe and in good hands.(I'm not at liberty to discuss what took place on my Spring Break 100 years ago)
I'm sure you guys will connect with the hogs next time.
Looking forward to it.
