Nice!! I am never shocked by their ability to keep on after a bad wound. On a hunt in Texas one of they guys in our group killed one that had been shot on three previous occasions. One shoulder wound that was almost healed one in the brisket still oozing blood and one in the hams that was crawling with maggots that made the smell so bad we couldn't stay close to it for long.

The hog charged the guy and took a steal force to the throat. Those critters are tough.

Nice hog,now where is the story.

Bjorn

turkey, I posted the hunt tread on here a few months ago but can't remember what I called it and can't find it. Sorry

Mike, the BH was not in the cavity-I pushed a two blade in the hole and it penetrated about an inch, so I'm guessing the arrow and head fell out. Gives me the heebie geebies just to think about it!

Wow!  Aint that something!  Thanks and congratulations.

Bjorn:  Almost looks like that hole in the noggin could have been caused by a 4-blade Zwickey Delta.  Are there a couple of slits at about 1 and 7 o clock?  The relatively rugged bleeders on the Zwickey would act to retard penetration in bone.

Very nice trophy, BTW.

Cool mount Bjorn. May have to do that if I ever kill another one!!!

Amazing.  Makes your cool mount even cooler.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

One of those critters is on my bucket list.    I do have couple of connections in CA and have wondered about doing that hunt.  I have never hunted hogs and would like to hear more about how you hunt them.  I see some guys hunt by posting around feeders. Is that the predominate way one goes about it?

That's a great mount! That's not only a great one for you but the 2 blade hole makes a fella wonder about the story behind it. Very cool!!!

Bjorn

Orion I think you may indeed be correct there are some extra breaks in the bone that could have been caused by bleeders.

The points are broken off the lower tusks and he had scar tissue all over his shoulders-a warrior for sure.

And to think I almost left the skull. Could only have been better if there were a small Roper BH still inside the noggin!    :)
