Anyone use BCY 8190 and if so what do you think. How does it compare to Astro Flight and in you oppinon is a endless string better then a flemish both string being made proper. Also are there any string making fourms out there could not seem to bing any fourms up.

I use it and like it.  I haven't used Astroflight myself, but I have seen the test results that showed 8190 to be superior in lack of stretch/creep and durability.  I imagine AF is still a good material, but 8190 is better.

Endless vs. Flemish is a Ford vs. Chevy kind of question--depends on who you ask.  I use both on different bows.  Each has a slight advantage over the other in different ways.

I don't know of a string making forum, but I'll be happy to discuss them with you over the phone, via e-mail, or here.

Thanks Chad for your reply. I think I will try the 8190 for my longbows. I always made flemish strings for them out of B50 and then I did make a D97 endless 9 strand with padded loops and center serving for a friend. He seems to like it a lot. Then I heard of 8190 for modern recurves and longbows and thought about trying it. Price if not bad for a 1/8 spool so you could get two colors for a little more then one 1/4 spool.

I pre-strech my bowstring and on D97 1/2 is about all I can get with the strecher I maded. How much would 8190 strech in comparison?

You'll get less from 8190--how much depends on the strand count, how you make the string, etc.

Dynaflight '97 is SK75 Dyneema.  8190 is SK90 Dyneema.  To compare, if you are familiar with original FF it was SK65 Dyneema.
